The Story: "Walt & The Magical Bee" Takes Flight in New Book Release

First published in 2025, Walt & The Magical Bee is the debut illustrated book by Cristina Cargasacchi-Jasper.

Inspired by the life and creative legacy of Walt Disney, this imaginative historical fiction story is told through lyrical free verse, accompanied by colourful illustrations.

Presented through a dream, the story explores Walt's childhood, his creative journey and the challenges he encountered along the way.

In this fictional interpretation, a young Walt meets Lucy, an original magical bee whose curiosity, imagination and gentle encouragement help him discover the wonders around him and believe in his own possibilities.

As Walt grows and pursues his ambitions, Lucy remains his imaginary companion, encouraging him to explore new ideas, face difficulties and find the courage to follow his dreams.

Through moments of discovery, struggle, failure and achievement, the story celebrates Walt Disney's remarkable creative legacy while exploring the importance of imagination, determination and curiosity about the world around us.

One of the inspirations for Lucy came from Walt Disney's own comparison of his creative role to that of a bee, gathering and sharing ideas throughout his studio.

Written for young readers and the young at heart, Walt & The Magical Bee invites readers to discover the magic within themselves and the world around them.
